LOCATION

Nestled among the olive groves in the Guadalhorce valley, one of the most beautiful in Andalucia, Cortijo La Nava offers peace, tranquility and easy access to everything this wonderful area has to offer. The town of Villanueva del Trabuco is only a few minutes drive away and although you will be completely unaware of it, junction 7 of the A92M Malaga/Granada motorway is just a few minutes in the opposite direction.

Trabuco is a small picturesque town, untouched by tourism, the local people are very friendly and enjoy a slower pace of life. You are bound to see ‘Goatherds with their flocks’ and the occasional ‘Burro’ loaded to the hilt.

On a day to day basis Trabuco has all the shops that you will need including a daily indoor market for fish and vegetables, a health centre on 24 hour call, dentists, three banks(all with cash machines) and a weekly street market. There are many restaurants, bars and cafes to choose from serving ‘tapas’ and traditional food. Why not enjoy a cool glass of ‘cerveza’ in the newly refurbished central plaza with its beautiful fountain and watch the world go by.

For those wanting to explore the area, some of the places you can visit are the nearby beautiful town of Antequera, the magnificent limestone gorge and lakes in El Chorro, the prehistoric Dolmen Caves, the Wolf Park and El Torcal Park Nature Reserve. You can also relax and have a coffee in the famous eight sided plaza in the town of Archidona. Why not buy some local delicacies here made by the Nuns, these can be bought via a small opening in the convent wall.

Local traditions and celebrations still feature very strongly here, so depending on the time of year you visit you may stumble across Fiestas or Ferias, processions(especially at Easter) and special saints days. Some high days and holidays are across the whole of Spain, others are local to the town or village you are in so this can be confusing at times.

Due to being in the ideal location with such good motorway access, for those wishing to venture further afield Cordoba, Granada, the Sierra Nevada, Seville and Malaga are easily reached. In fact, we are only 35 minutes away from both Malaga and Granada airports.
